Project management for the repair of the joints of the Val Joly dam
Built in 1968 by EDF, its original purpose was to supply cooling water to the Pont-de-Sambre thermal power station. Following its closure in 1998, the dam now has two main functions:
BRL Ingénierie was asked by the Nord département, which is now responsible for its management, to help make this structure safe through two main tasks:
"The vast majority of dams in France are ageing. To ensure the safety of these structures, they need to be rehabilitated, an area where innovation is king. Each solution for improving the resilience of these infrastructures has to be tailor-made: a real challenge for our engineers! "
