A strong pillar of the local economy, the river cluster of Saint-Jean de Losne, Losne and Saint-Usage is recognized at national and European level for its recreational boating, shipbuilding and ship repair activities. The site is saturated and faces a number of handicaps that threaten to jeopardize its future.
The aim of the study is to draw up a strategic plan for the sustainable development of the river industry in all its facets (river industry, river tourism, training, port dynamics, environment and quality of life), bringing together local players around this unifying project and proposing an operational action plan.
The project involves drawing up a shared “Territory River Charter”, including an operational, prioritized action plan enabling local public and private players to ensure the balanced, sustainable development of river activities on the site. The project also includes a strong animation and consultation dimension at all phases to ensure maximum ownership.
Finally, specific support was provided to the project owner in setting up operational actions (e.g. investment in and operation of a sickle jigger) to give the project a certain momentum.
