Resilience of coastal and marine ecosystems in Cuba
Guanahacabibes Peninsula and Playa Santa-Lucia pilot sites
Project
description
The Guanahacabibes peninsula in Cuba's far west, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1987, and Santa Lucia beach in the province of Pinar del Río, are home to a wealth of terrestrial and marine biodiversity, including mangroves and coral reefs. BRL Ingénierie carried out a vulnerability assessment and drew up a concerted strategy and action plan for adapting to climate change and protecting these special ecosystems.
