Support for the development of a climate change resilience action plan
As part of the revision of its NDC (Nationally Determined Contribution), the Republic of Congo has drawn up an action plan with the support of BRL Ingénierie. The aim is to operationalise the commitments made by the country, in terms of both mitigation and adaptation, and to promote the implementation and monitoring of actions.
In order to complete this work, AFD requested further support to strengthen the skills of the actors responsible for implementing the NDC. BRL Ingénierie has teamed up with Kinomé to propose: a stakeholder map, the mobilisation of specific assessment tools to identify the precise capacity-building needs of each type of stakeholder, the development of an appropriate capacity-building strategy, its implementation through face-to-face training workshops, webinars, exchanges between peers, etc. and finally its evaluation. This support is part of the Adapt'Action programme, which provides assistance to countries wishing to implement their commitments to combat climate change.
"Capacity building in the Least Developed Countries has been identified as a key focus of SDG 13. Training on adaptation issues for all the bodies responsible for implementing the NDC (ministries, National Assembly, Parliament, local authorities, EESC, civil society organisations) in the Congo is therefore fully in line with the achievement of this SDG.
