Development of Gérard Bruyère Park

Work carried out to improve usage

EuropeFranceDepartment of Hérault

Project
description

The project involves carrying out all development work at Gérard Bruyère Park, from the various design phases through to the supervision and final acceptance of the work. Gérard Bruyère Park is a recreational park featuring a body of water covering a total area of 6.5 hectares (a 1-hectare fish pond and a 5.5-hectare recreational pond equipped with three water ski lifts) surrounded by landscaped areas covering 6 hectares. The various areas of the park are connected by a network of concrete pontoons/footbridges and wooden platforms. Its permanent water level is maintained by a pressurized supply connected to the BRL raw water network. Water treatment to ensure bathing water quality in the recreational pond is carried out by drawing water from eight points via two pumping stations, which convey the water to two treatment stages consisting of three vertical sand filters planted with reeds and three hydrobotanical basins, and return it to eight points in the pond. In addition, the park’s water body primarily serves as a flood control basin for a stream diverted to the park’s periphery. The flow is entirely channeled through 2m x 1m frames positioned under a national highway and then discharged directly into the fish pond, which acts as a settling basin and provides protection for the recreational pond.

  • Hydraulic study to determine the dimensions of the frames under the RN113, focusing on the hydraulic impact on the neighborhoods upstream of the RN113;
  • Water Law file;
  • Hazard study;
  • Mission to analyze water quality issues and associated measures (QH2O);
  • Assistance to the project owner in consultation with network concessionaires (AMO VRD);
  • Preparation of the ICPE (Classified Installations for Environmental Protection) file - Additional service (optional) that may or may not be ordered by the project owner (ICPE).
