Project
description
The project aims to support more resilient and productive agriculture in Angola, by improving irrigation efficiency, strengthening farmers' capacities and establishing strong institutional structures for the sustainable management of irrigated areas.
Missions
& Services
The project feasibility study is being carried out in two distinct phases.
-
a diagnostic stage to assess the relevance of the rehabilitation of the five pre-selected irrigated areas (Matumbo / Caxito / Zambia / Bom Jesus / Matala), by examining various key aspects such as the agricultural situation, environmental and social aspects, economic viability, sustainability of water resources, management models and institutional capacities. The originality of the approach consisted in the methodological implementation of five Participatory Rapid Diagnostics (PRD), making it possible to diagnose the areas concerned in a participatory and rapid manner.
-
a more in-depth feasibility study stage of the irrigated areas selected after phase 1.
