National Water Week in Madagascar
The Madagascan capital Antananarivo hosted the National Water Week from 16 to 18 April 2025, a key event bringing together public decision-makers, technical partners and donors to discuss the major issues relating to access to water. On this occasion, BRL Ingénierie presented the Schéma Directeur d'Alimentation en Eau Potable du Grand Tana, a strategic document aimed at securing access to quality water for the population in the medium and long term. Drawn up in consultation with the local authorities, the plan is part of a sustainable planning approach that takes into account demographic projections and the challenges of climate change. At the same time, BRL Ingénierie outlined the emergency works currently under study to rapidly boost the capital's supply capacity: reinforcement of 3 existing treatment plants, construction of 2 new reservoirs and a new 30,000 m3/d treatment plant, renewal of 64 km of obsolete pipes, extension of 100 km of network, reinforcement of 40 km of network.
