Launch of the WIMES ThaiQ project in Bangkok
On 5 September, the French Embassy in Thailand organised the launch of a software platform project to monitor water resources, funded by a grant from the French Treasury (FASEP) awarded to the Thai Geo-informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA). 🇹🇭 GISTDA and BRL Engineering, in collaboration with the start-up HETWA, have signed an agreement to develop an innovative solution for monitoring and predicting the quantity and quality of water resources in the Eastern Economic Corridor, near Bangkok. This software will be based on the joint use of data collected in situ and satellite imagery, including simulation tools to improve water management: monitoring, forecasting, planning and decision support for the relevant agencies. This project strengthens cooperation between France and GISTDA, following the launch of the Theos-2 satellite in October 2023.
