Closure of Component 1 of the PGIIS Project in Senegal

We recently had the pleasure of holding the closing meeting of Component 1 of the Integrated Flood Management Project in Senegal (PGIIS), led by Senegal's Ministry of Water and Sanitation and financed by AFD - Agence Française de Développement and the Green Climate Fund. Since October 2021, this ambitious project has enhanced knowledge and management of flood risk on a national scale, thanks in particular to :

the production of detailed maps of flood-prone areas and flood risks;
setting up a Geographic Information System (GIS) to facilitate risk planning and management;
raising awareness among institutions and the general public to create a genuine risk culture.

BRL Ingénierie is proud to have contributed to this project alongside IGN FI, providing its expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, modeling and risk management.

Many thanks to all the partners, experts and institutions who helped make this mission a success for Senegalese populations at risk of flooding.
