BRL Ingénierie is contributing to the development of agriculture in Moldova

As part of the cooperation between Moldova, France and the European Union, two financing agreements (AFD/EU) were signed on 14 May in Chisinau for the implementation of the Integrated Development of Agriculture and Irrigation Programme (IDRIP). BRL Ingénierie is proud to have contributed to the preparation of this important project by carrying out the feasibility study.

The project comprises four components:

  • the modernisation/rehabilitation of two public irrigation systems (covering over 3,000 ha in total) managed by user associations,

  • the establishment of a national support mechanism for the development of small-scale private irrigation based on water harvesting infrastructure,

  • support for the diversification of cropping systems and the development of agricultural and irrigation practices that are more resilient to climate change (notably through a technical assistance programme for farmers),

  • the strengthening of the public sector’s capacity to steer irrigation and agricultural development policies.

Today, in collaboration with our partner PROTOBY, we are continuing our commitment alongside the Agenția Națională de Îmbunătățiri Funciare (ANIF) and the water users’ associations of Dubasarii Vechi and Criulenii de Sus as we move into the detailed design phase.
