Hydro-agricultural farming in Benin

In Benin, BRL Ingénierie is supporting Tractebel (part of the Engie Group) and the Beninese Ministry of Agriculture in the design of 5,000 ha of hydro-agricultural schemes downstream from the future Dogo Bis dam. In addition to energy, hydroelectric dams offer opportunities for water management and agricultural production. As a major consumer of rice, Benin is keen to reduce its imports and develop a local, high-quality rice industry tailored to the Beninese market.
