Created in 1993 as a subsidiary of the Compagnie Nationale d'Aménagement de la Région du Bas Rhône et du Languedoc (which was founded in 1955).
BRL Ingénierie is the engineering subsidiary of the Groupe BRL, designer, concessionaire and manager of the Regional Hydraulic Network (RHR) for the Occitanie region, which can supply up to a million people with drinking water and irrigates 120,000 hectares of farmland.
Canals, dams, pumping stations, treatment plants, land, environment, support for farmers and agricultural sectors, consultation... BRL Ingénierie has developed a unique know-how in the design of hydraulic structures and, in support for project management and operation, initially for the needs of the RHR, and then, over the years, for a large number of other customers.
In addition to designing structures, BRL Ingénierie has been involved in supporting initiatives such as consultation, training, broader territorial development, the emergence of new agricultural sectors, support for local authorities, consideration of social and environmental issues... and more recently, responses to issues linked to the preservation of biodiversity and climate change. This know-how has been widely used in France and abroad.
The evolution of our activities
This expertise has enable us to broaden our skills which means we can offer a multidisciplinary response to the technical, social and environmental challenges of sustainable regional development. We pay particular attention to the impact of our activities and projects, and we have progressively integrated the challenges of preserving biodiversity and addressing the effects of climate change into our approach. The challenges of water resource sharing and adaptation have led us to address the issues of both droughts and floods, including in coastal areas, which are particularly exposed and vulnerable to flooding. We priorise nature-based solutions.
We have set up offices near our main areas of activity as we wanted to be closer to our customers, but it is important to us that we remain a company that operates on a human scale. Today, BRL Ingénierie is one of the leading players in its fields, both in France and abroad.
Our role today
Our role is to ensure the conditions needed for a better quality of life in France and around the world by responsibly preserving, developing and enhancing water and the environment, whilst preserving biodiversity and addressing the threats posed by climate change.
This vision is backed up by an ambition strategy that focuses on actions that have a positive impact on the environment and its stakeholders, a strong concern with the well-being of the people who work for the company, and a commitment to supporting its customers in their efforts to achieve SDGs.
